A Midland’s girl through and through, I was brought up in a sports centric household-Dad still likes to remind me of the time I bunked off school and told him I was staying at a mate’s house to do homework so I could watch Nuneaton Borough in the FA Cup replay against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

 

I went on to study Broadcast Journalism at Nottingham Trent University but in actual fact, I didn’t make the first cut! The course required an entrance assessment and when I received the letter to say I hadn’t made it, I decided to call the course leader. She asked if she could call me back and when she did, it was with an offer thanks to my tenacity. First industry lesson learnt, never take no as a first answer!

 

Whilst studying I worked in various roles around motorsport which helped score a work experience placement with Eurosport. That proved even more helpful after I graduated when they took me out on a few events to put together my first show reel that booked my first gig co-hosting the Autosport International Live Action Arena. However there was a slight hiccup along the way- I broke my leg on a Yamaha 250SXF six weeks before the show. There was nothing getting in the way of my first real job, so I ditched the crutches 2 days before and wore my Aircast under my jeans.

 

The following month I found out that I would be the Pitlane Reporter and Presenter for the FIM MXGP World Championship and the rest as they say is history.
